The signet rings are one of the elements of our visual identity. The seven rings are not only a decorative element; they are also an abstract representation of the university seal and symbolize the university's seven faculties. They represent connection, growth, and the reach of the academic world.
Each successive ring is 120% larger than the previous one. The stroke weight depends on the format: for sizes up to and including A1, the stroke is 0.5 pt thick; for A1 and larger, it is 1 pt thick.
NOTE: The use of the signet rings is optional. They can be effective for some applications, but they are not a mandatory element.
The signet rings can be used in several ways:
Important rule: You may move the rings, but when scaling or cropping them, the innermost, smallest ring must always remain fully visible. This ensures the element remains recognizable.
In addition to the lines themselves, the spaces between the signet rings can be used for visual accents. This is a tool to add depth or focus to a design.
An accent area is the ring-shaped space enclosed by two of the rings. It always spans three rings, with one ring running through the centre of the area.
