To ensure our logo is identifiable, we use the 'droplet' on backgrounds that are not solid white or blue, such as photographs or sections in a faculty colour.
The droplet is a white shape whose curve derives from the university seal. It improves the logo's visibility, regardless of the background image or colour.
When using the droplet, take note of the following:
Shape and colour: The droplet is always white and has a fixed, curved shape.
Position: The droplet has a fixed anchor position: in the bottom-left corner of the layout (e.g., on a page, poster, or image).
Logo placement: The 'Universiteit Leiden' logo has a fixed, central position within the droplet.
If the droplet element does not fit in the standard bottom-left corner position (e.g., a roll-up banner with plants or furniture in front), you can place it in the top-left corner instead. Use a mirrored version of the droplet with the curve facing down.
If using the droplet element would make the logo unclear or too small, use the alternative form based on the university rings. This was designed to ensure the logo remains identifiable on small backgrounds.
